What if I find I need to make a complaint?

If your secured loan falls under the cut-off point of £25,000 then you will be protected by the Consumer Credit Act of 1974 in most instances of misconduct. In addition to this, most reputable lending organisations are licensed by the Director General of Fair Trading- you can check whether an institution possesses a license or not by consulting the Consumer Credit Public Register.

If you find that any problems arise in conjunction with your secured loan then speak to your loan provider and see if they can rectify the problem. If you find you have no success then it is a good idea to go to your local Citizen's Advice Bureau and see what they advise. You can locate your nearest office on their website.

YOUR HOME IS AT RISK IF YOU DO NOT KEEP UP REPAYMENTS ON A MORTGAGE OR OTHER LOAN SECURED ON IT
